Daily Announcements

North Middle High School Principal
Making a “Bald” Statement

When North Middle High School students walk through the commons area on their way to class, they have a daily visual reminder of the number of days left until the HSAP statewide test. They are also visually reminded of a pledge made to them by Mr. Gregory, the principal of North Middle High School.

In an effort to motivate students, Mr. Gregory has agreed to allow the tenth grade students to shave his head during an assembly if they average an 85% passing rate on the HSAP tests. He hopes this pledge will demonstrate his willingness to go the extra mile for his students as an incentive to achieve. As a bonus, Mrs. Warne, the tenth grade English teacher, is planning on dying her hair again…this time hot pink?! So, the theme for this year’s HSAP test is “The Bald and the Beautiful!!”

Integrating the Arts and Social Studies
Ms. Jefferson's social studies classes learn about history through art. The butterflies they are painting are based on poems and art created by children at a concentration camp in Terezin, Czechoslovakia.  The children were talented Jews and were separated from the rest of the Jewish community because of their artistic abilities.
